..so a new year came over. Today is a national feast date in Italy. Epiphany day closes Christmas holiday as a big curtain. Children wait for a big sock full of sweet candies. Everyone is ready for a new year to begin. In many villages people come together around a large fire where an old lady shaped puppet burned. Boiled chickpeas and “luppini” , a sort of beans, are served with mulled wine. This feast has pagan origins: in the rural world people used to celebrate the end of the old year and the beginning of the new one. It seems to me a good date to start this new blog of mine.
